Certificates
PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) and FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council®) are internationally recognized sustainability standards. Forests certified to these standards meet high environmental and social requirements, thereby ensuring the forests are properly managed.
SFI® (Sustainable Forestry Initiative) Fiber Sourcing: When PEFC and FSC certified forests are not available, SFI Fiber Sourcing standard comes into play. SFI Fiber Sourcing requires that certificate holders thoroughly demonstrate that the raw material in their supply chain comes from legal and responsible sources.
SBP (Sustainable Biomass Program): SBP is a program created for wood pellets and wood chips used as fuel for electricity generation. SBP includes a rigorous risk assessment for ensuring that the wood is sourced from environmental, economically, and socially sound practices.
